WebP to PNG Converter — free, lossless, right in your browser
Convert WebP to PNG in seconds — every pixel preserved, transparency kept. Your images are decoded on your own device, so they are never uploaded anywhere. WebP is Google's efficient web format, and it is a fine place to keep images — until you need to edit one. Most desktop editors, design tools and office software still prefer PNG: lossless, transparent, and editable forever without quality drift. Batch convert up to 20 images at once and download them one by one or as a single ZIP.
Convert WebP to PNG online
To convert WebP to PNG, add your .webp images and press Convert. PNG output is lossless — no quality slider needed. Files up to 30 MB each.
Everything happens in your browser — closing this tab removes everything. EXIF data such as GPS location is not carried into the converted file.

Why convert WebP to PNG?
WebP earned its place on the web by being small — a lossy WebP is typically 25–35% smaller than the same photo as a JPG. But small is not the same as editable. The moment you need to retouch, composite, or print an image, PNG is the safer container: it is lossless, so you can open, edit and re-save it endlessly without the slow quality rot that lossy formats suffer, and it carries an alpha channel, so logos, icons and graphics keep their transparency. Plenty of desktop software — older Photoshop versions, office suites, some video editors — still opens PNG far more happily than WebP. Converting WebP to PNG is therefore the right move whenever a web image is headed into an editing workflow. If you just need the smallest file for sharing instead, convert WebP to JPG.
🔒 Private by design
Most online converters upload your images to their servers. JPGDrop converts in your browser, so your files never leave your device.
⚡ Instant batch conversion
WebP decoding is hardware-fast in modern browsers — convert up to 20 images in one batch, then download everything together as one ZIP.
🎯 Lossless, no sliders
PNG has no quality setting to get wrong — the output is a pixel-perfect copy of the decoded image, ready for editing.
🖼️ Transparency kept
Transparent areas in the WebP are written into the PNG exactly as they are — no white fill, no surprises.
🆓 Free, with no catches

📱 Works on every device
Use it on a phone, tablet or desktop — any modern browser decodes WebP natively, so there is nothing to install.

Limitations
- PNG files are bigger — typically 2–3× the WebP size. For the smallest shareable file, use our WebP to JPG converter.
- Animated WebP files convert to a still PNG of the first frame; PNG cannot store animation.
- Converting back from WebP cannot restore quality that lossy compression already discarded.
- EXIF metadata (including location and camera details) is not preserved in the converted file.
Troubleshooting
- A file failed to convert. It may be a corrupted WebP or use an encoding variant your browser cannot decode. Try opening it in your browser directly — if the browser cannot display it, it cannot convert it either.
- The PNG is much bigger than I expected. That is normal — PNG is lossless. Switch the output to JPG on this page if file size matters more.
- Transparency did not appear. Only WebP files that actually contain an alpha channel produce transparent PNGs — opaque images convert to solid PNGs.
- Nothing happens on Convert. Very old browsers cannot decode WebP. Update to a recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
