WebP to JPG Converter — free, private, right in your browser
Convert WebP to JPG in seconds — the format every app, editor and email client accepts. Your images are decoded on your own device, so they are never uploaded anywhere. WebP is Google's efficient web format, but plenty of software still refuses to open it: upload forms, older editors, printers and some email clients just say no. JPG fixes that instantly. Batch convert up to 20 images at once and download them one by one or as a single ZIP.
Convert WebP to JPG online
To convert WebP to JPG, add your .webp images and press Convert. Set the quality with the slider — 90% is a safe default. Files up to 30 MB each.
Everything happens in your browser — closing this tab removes everything. EXIF data such as GPS location is not carried into the converted file. Transparent areas become white in JPG output.
How do I convert WebP to JPG?
No software to install and nothing to upload. The whole conversion is instant.
Add your WebP images
Drag and drop up to 20 .webp files into the box above, click to browse, or paste them straight from your clipboard.
Pick a quality level
Keep the default 90% for visually lossless results, or drop to 75–85% when you only need the JPG so an app accepts the file.
Convert and download
Press Convert, then download each JPG on its own or grab everything at once in a single ZIP file.
Why convert WebP to JPG?
WebP is a genuinely good format — Google designed it to make web images smaller without visible quality loss, and every modern browser can display it. The trouble starts the moment a WebP leaves the browser: Windows' older photo viewers, many upload forms, email clients, printers, office software and some social apps either refuse the file or show a broken thumbnail. JPG is the opposite — it is the one image format that works absolutely everywhere, on every device and in every app made in the last thirty years. Converting WebP to JPG is therefore less about quality and more about compatibility: the same picture, in a wrapper nothing will reject. If the image has transparency you want to keep, convert WebP to PNG instead — JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent areas become white.
🔒 Private by design
Most online converters upload your images to their servers. JPGDrop converts in your browser, so your files never leave your device.
⚡ Instant batch conversion
WebP decoding is hardware-fast in modern browsers — convert up to 20 images in one batch, then download everything together as one ZIP.
🎚️ Quality you control
The quality slider runs from 50 to 100. High for archiving, lower for quick sharing — you decide the trade-off per batch.
⬜ Honest transparency handling
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white — stated up front, no surprises in the output.
🆓 Free, with no catches
No sign-up, no daily limits, no watermarks, no credits. The tool runs on your device, so it costs us nothing to let you use it freely.
📱 Works on every device
Use it on a phone, tablet or desktop — any modern browser decodes WebP natively, so there is nothing to install.

Limitations
- Transparent areas become white in JPG output — use our WebP to PNG converter to keep transparency.
- Animated WebP files convert to a still JPG of the first frame; JPG cannot store animation.
- Converting back from WebP cannot restore quality that lossy compression already discarded.
- EXIF metadata (including location and camera details) is not preserved in the converted file.
Troubleshooting
- A file failed to convert. It may be a corrupted WebP or use an encoding variant your browser cannot decode. Try opening it in your browser directly — if the browser cannot display it, it cannot convert it either.
- The JPG looks washed out. Check whether the source had transparency — it becomes white. For graphics with alpha, PNG is the better target.
- The JPG is bigger than the WebP. Normal: WebP compresses better than JPG. Lower the quality slider to 80% for a smaller file.
- Nothing happens on Convert. Very old browsers cannot decode WebP. Update to a recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
