Press Convert, then download each PNG on its own or grab everything at once in a single ZIP file.

    Why convert HEIC to PNG?

HEIC is a clever format — it stores the same photo in about half the space of JPG. The trouble starts when the photo leaves your iPhone: Windows PCs, upload forms, email clients, printers and older apps often cannot open HEIC at all. PNG solves that and goes further: it is lossless, so you can edit and re-save a PNG over and over without quality drift, and it supports transparency. That makes HEIC to PNG the right conversion whenever a photo is headed for editing software, a design tool, or any workflow where every pixel matters. If you just need the smallest file for sharing, convert HEIC to JPG instead.

    🔒 Private by design

Most online converters upload your photos to their servers. JPGDrop converts in your browser, so personal photos never leave your device.

    ⚡ Fast batch conversion

Convert a whole camera roll at once — up to 20 files per batch — then download everything together as one ZIP.

    🎯 Lossless, no sliders

PNG has no quality setting to get wrong — the output is a pixel-perfect copy of the decoded photo, ready for editing.

    🖼️ Transparency-ready

If a HEIC carries an alpha channel, it is written into the PNG. Most iPhone camera photos are opaque, so expect a solid image.

    Limitations

    • Only the main image inside a HEIC file is converted — Live Photo motion and Portrait depth data cannot be represented in PNG.
    • PNG files are bigger — typically 2–3× the HEIC size. For the smallest shareable file, use our HEIC to JPG converter.
    • EXIF metadata (including location and camera details) is not preserved in the converted file.
    • Decoding HEIC is processor-heavy, so very large photos can take a few seconds each, and older phones are slower.

    Troubleshooting

    • A file failed to convert. It may be a corrupted HEIC or a variant your browser cannot decode. Try a smaller batch, or open the photo on your iPhone and re-export it.
    • The PNG is much bigger than I expected. That is normal — PNG is lossless. Switch the output to JPG on this page if file size matters more.
    • Transparency did not appear. iPhone camera shots are opaque, so they convert to solid PNGs. Only HEICs that actually contain an alpha channel produce transparent PNGs.
    • The tab feels slow. HEIC decoding uses your device's processor. Close other heavy tabs and convert in smaller batches.

    Frequently asked questions

Add your .heic photos to the converter above (drag and drop, browse, or paste), keep PNG selected, and press Convert. Download each PNG on its own or all of them together as a ZIP file.
The PNG encoding itself adds no new compression artifacts — the output is a pixel-accurate copy of the decoded photo. But HEIC is a lossy format, so fine detail your iPhone discarded when it took the photo cannot be restored.
If a HEIC file carries an alpha channel, it is written into the PNG. In practice, photos from the iPhone camera are opaque, so they convert to solid PNGs — transparency mainly matters for graphics and screenshots saved as HEIC.
PNG is lossless, so it typically ends up 2–3 times the size of the original HEIC. If you need the smallest shareable file instead, convert to JPG with our HEIC to JPG converter.
No. Your photos are decoded and converted entirely inside your browser on your own device. There is no upload step, so your files never leave your device and we could not see or store them even if we wanted to.
Yes. JPGDrop is completely free with no daily limits, no sign-up, no watermarks and no credits. Because the conversion runs in your browser, there is no server cost to pass on to you.
